Drive in BC
As a resident of BC, anyone can drive up to 90 days with an international driving license.
But as a full-time student, you can drive on your home country driving license, until you finish the course (two-year driving experience is mandatory in your home country**).
Procedure to get a BC Driving License:

You must have a valid license to drive in B.C.
- If you are a new B.C. resident and have a valid driver’s license from another country or province, you can use your license for 90 days. You must apply for a B.C. license within 90 days.
- If you are a visitor, you can drive in B.C. for up to six months with a valid driver’s license from your country. If you have an International Driving Permit, you must also carry the accompanying foreign license.
- If you have a license from another province of Canada or certain other countries, you can apply for a B.C. license. You do not have to take a test to qualify.
- If your driver’s license is from anywhere else, you will need to take a knowledge test and a road test. Get the free guide, Learn to Drive Smart, online in English or French, or in English only from driver licensing offices.

Driving schools can help you learn to drive and prepare for the tests. You may be able to get a teacher who speaks your language.
According to The Motor Vehicle Act, in Part 3.1 under driving while using an electronic device allows you to drive with only one earbud and phone must be securely mounted
